- Central Library Enjoy a look at some examples of inventions that were once labeled science fiction in books or movies but are now reality.
“From Science Fiction to Science Fact” is the theme of the current display this month at the Science and History Division, located on the 3rd floor, of the Bausch and Lomb Library Building of the Central Library of Rochester & Monroe County. Enjoy a look at some examples of inventions that were once labeled science fiction in books or movies but are now reality. Examples include space travel, photography, telephones, audio recordings, global positioning (GPS), computers and robots. Local artist/model maker Bruce Day’s model of a time machine based on the film version of the book The Time Machine by H. G. Wells stirs the imagination of whether mankind will find a way to travel through time. | |
