PARENT/CHILD BOOK GROUP

For children in grades 3 -5, accompanied with a parent  For our next book club evening, please read The Wild Robot, by Peter Brown and come prepared to discuss your favorite parts! Lead by our children librarian, the group meets monthly. Registration is not required. Our next book club is April 27!

NAZARETH COLLEGE STORY BAND

For children ages 4 –10, accompanied by an adult  The Story Band is marching to Penfield Public Library to present an all-new interactive musical program. Afterward there will be a wonderful opportunity for children to meet and interact with a wide variety of musical instruments during the instrument petting zoo! LIBRARY LEGO LAB

Do you love to build with Legos?  Come join other Lego fans for our Library Lego Lab! We’ll provide all the Legos, you bring your imagination. Creations will be photographed then dismantled for our next Lego Lab!

WHO AM I? with presenter Kathleen Wakefield

For children in grades 2 - 5  Come celebrate Poetry Month with poet, teacher Kathleen Wakefield. We will have fun by writing a “surprising” poem about yourself. What do you love? What do you dream about and long for? We will find lively words to describe our feelings! We will also read some wonderful poems to inspire us, write our poems, and then create a work of art to “frame” our poems. REGISTRATION begins Monday, April 3 for Penfield town or school district residents; Monday, April 10 for all others. 
 


TALES FOR TAILS

For children ages 4 and up and their families  Did you know that even dogs like to listen to stories? Come read to real live therapy dogs from “Tales for Tails.” Drop-in, no registration required. You will sign up for reading time slots upon arrival. (Children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult.)
 


CALLING ALL SUPER HEROES

DOLL’S SPRING TEA PARTY

For children in grades K – 5  You and your favorite doll are invited to our fancy spring tea party. We’ll enjoy sweet refreshments, make a craft, and talk about our dolls. Please dress up (and your doll too) in your favorite “party clothes” to stroll down our red carpet! REGISTRATION begins Thursday, March 17 for Penfield town or school district residents; Thursday, March 24.
 


SCRAP ART FUN

For children in grades K-5  Join us and use your creativity to produce a work of art using some recycled items as diverse as seashells, beads, fabric, pinecones, machine parts, game pieces, dried flowers, and more. Presenter Mary Jane Wenner will provide the instruction and inspiration and all the materials. Just bring your imagination. REGISTRATION begins Friday, April 7 for Penfield town or school district residents; Friday, April 14 for all others.

MUFFINS WITH MOM/GRANDMA STORYTIME

For ages 3-7, accompanied by mom and/or grandma.  It’s almost Mother’s Day and we’re going to celebrate with a special storytime devoted to moms. We will enjoy stories and sing songs in honor of mothers and munch on some tasty muffins too! MINIATURE HORSES

For ages 3-6, accompanied by an adult.  Janice Hyde of Never Say Never Stables returns for a special hour exploring the wonderful world of miniature horses! This hands-on program includes petting, brushing, learning about these special animals and a fun craft.
