The reading game begins Monday, June 27,
and runs through Wednesday, August 3.
You play once a week on:
Mondays, 6:00– 8:00 PM, or
Tuesdays, 2:00 – 4:00 PM, or
Tuesdays, 6:15– 8:15 PM, or
Wednesdays, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM, or
Wednesdays, 3:30– 5:45 PM
To play, you need to contract with the children’s librarians to read at least 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week (children who are not yet reading can be read to). We fill out the contract when you come to register. Child must be present to register. You will also receive a special reading game bag with our official reading calendar and an “Early Bird” bonus activity card!
Every DAY your contract is met, you earn a coupon that can be redeemed for prizes at our prize table. Each week when you come to play the game, you get one roll of the dice to advance on the game board. For each week your contract is met, you earn an extra roll of the dice. You will also earn a raffle ticket to enter our weekly prize drawing. And if you follow the special directions on certain squares, you can earn EVEN MORE raffle tickets. Come in to play each week and pick up an ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, READ bonus activity card. Do the activity each week to earn EXTRA COUPONS!!
SUMMER FAMILY STORY TIME

For children of all ages, accompanied by an adult Families are invited to enjoy stories, songs, and fingerplays presented by our children’s librarian.
This program is geared for toddler and pre-school children not yet comfortable leaving their parent/caregiver. No registration is required.
SUMMER STORIES ‘N’ MORE STORY TIME

For children ages 2 – 6, older siblings welcome.
Preschoolers are invited to enjoy stories, songs, and finger plays presented by our children’s librarian. Parents/caregivers are welcome, but not required to attend unless the child is younger than three. No registration is required.

Meet up with other Minecraft fans at the library! Bring your own device with the game on it or play the PC version on a library laptop (some licenses are provided, but bring your own username and password if you have one.) NO REGISTRATION required, sign in upon arrival.

With Olympic Fencer Iris Zimmermann and the Rochester Fencing Club
For children entering grades K – 6
Have you ever wanted to be a swash buckling pirate, dueling musketeer, or a Jedi Knight? Come discover the sport of fencing with World Champion fencer Iris Zimmermann! Learn about the origins of fencing, the history of the Olympics, and see actual gear and three types of swords. You will be inspired and if you are brave enough, you might just get chosen to give it a try. REGISTRATION

ANIMALYMPICS with author, illustrator Scott Gibala-Broxholm

FOR READING GAME PARTICIPANTS ONLY, parents and caregivers welcome.
We will celebrate the end of our summer reading program in a grand finale of fun, excitement and laughter with BUBBLE GAMES 2016! Bubble Man, Doug Rougeux, will entertain us with his amazing soap bubble artistry. Go for the gold in this fantastic, interactive Olympian Game show. After the show, we will honor our reading game participants by presenting them with special reading certificates. REGISTRATION

Have you ever wanted to learn a number of new skills in one place in a very short time?
If so, join us on a Sunday afternoon as we explore at least a dozen new activities spanning the entire Dewey Decimal system. Free refreshments and giveaways. The library will be open for regular business from 1-5 pm.
