Movie NightSummertime Flicks at the Library: Ben Stiller directs and stars in this PG-rated Twentieth Century Fox Entertainment film based on James Thurber’s classic story of a daydreamer who escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance, and action. When his job along with that of his co-worker (Kristin Wiig) are threatened, Walter takes action in the real world, embarking on a global journey that turns into an adventure more extraordinary than anything he could have ever imagined.  Join us at 6:30 on Thursday, August 14 for this movie sponsored by the Friends of Penfield Public Library. Please visit our program calendar to register.

/uploadedImages/Penfield/Home/6.jpgWe're number 6 and we like it.  A recent survey about favorite places to take children in the Rochester area conducted by kidsoutandabout.com ranked public libraries the 6th most favorite in the top 20 list.  That ranking places us among such luminaries as The National Museum of Play and the Seneca Park Zoo.  One advantage we have over many of the destinations on the list is that we are absolutely FREE.  This summer we are offering opportunities for all ages to earn prizes for reading and programs that tie in with our themes of Fizz!  Boom!  Read! (children),  Spark a Reaction! (teens), and Literary Elements (adults).  For more information, please visit us, call us at 340-8720, or click here for children’s events, here for teens, or here for adult programs.
