The Friends of the Penfield Public Library have unveiled a new opportunity for the public. Gently used books are available for a donation of $.50 per soft cover and $1.00 per hardcover, payable at the circulation desk. These books include adult fiction, young adult, children’s, art, history, cookbooks, hobbies and crafts, religion, and general non-fiction. Shelves are restocked frequently. The money raised from these donations is used to benefit the programs and services of the Penfield Public Library. The books are displayed in neat categories on shelves behind the photocopier.
Create a Gratitude Book: Having family and guests for Thanksgiving? On Monday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m., come and learn how to create a lasting keepsake from your gathering. Amy Raimy and Barbara Brachfeld from Close to My Heart will show you how to create your own gratitude book. Have family and friends write about what they are grateful for and use it in this decorative keepsake. We supply supplies and instruction, you supply the talent and your guests the words. Registration began on October 13.
