Teen Summer Reading Game

Unmask @ Your Library!   Teen Summer Reading Game for 6th-12th graders
Wednesday, June 24- Friday, August 7

You could be an instant winner with our new scratch-off game!
You can get one ticket every day just by asking at the circulation desk, plus one ticket for every teen program attended and completed bingo card turned in to the information desk. Every ticket (winning or losing) is an entry into our weekly prize package raffle, too!
 


MEHNDI AND SCARF DYEING

7:00  pm - 8:30  pm
Age Level: 12 yrs. - 18 yrs.

Grades 6-12  Henna artist Meena Lall will give all participants a cool temporary tattoo. Make a beautiful dyed scarf, too! Limited to 20 participants. REGISTRATION is required and begins June 17. 
 


GAMING TOURNAMENT WITH SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL & GUITAR HERO

7:00  pm - 8:30  pm
Age Level: 12 yrs. - 18 yrs.

Grades 6-12   Compete against others in the ultra-popular Super Smash Bros Brawl for Wii U projected onto our big screen! We will simultaneously host a Guitar Hero III (PlayStation 2) tournament. Prizes will be awarded! Free refreshments, too. REGISTRATION is required and begins June 17. 
 


PERSONAL SAFETY FOR TEENS

Age Level: 12 yrs. - 18 yrs.

Grades 6-12  This class will focus on personal safety and cover basic self-defense techniques. Participants will get hands on practice so please wear comfortable clothes. Presenter April McCloud is a Library Assistant at the Lorette Wilmot Library at Nazareth College. She has practiced martial arts for many years, and teaches self-defense classes. REGISTRATION is required and begins June 17. 
 


IRON CHEF: MUG CAKES

7:00  pm - 8:30  pm
Age Level: 12 yrs. - 18 yrs.

Grades 6-12   Learn the basics of creating “mug cakes,” then compete to make the best one featuring a secret ingredient! Prizes will be awarded for “Best Looking” and “Best Tasting.” REGISTRATION is required and begins June 17. Limited to 20 participants.
 


PRACTICE SAT – NEW VERSION
2015-07-24
9:30  am - 1:30  pm
Age Level: 16 yrs. - 18 yrs.

Grades 10-12  Kaplan administers this free practice exam under simulated conditions and emails detailed score reports approximately a week later. Bring a number 2 pencil, a calculator, and a snack. Wear comfortable clothing. REGISTRATION is required and begins June 17. 
 


BE A HERO FOR ANIMALS- MAKE CAT BEDS FOR LOLLYPOP FARM

7:00  pm - 8:30  pm
Age Level: 12 yrs. - 18 yrs.

We will use a no-sew tying technique to make cozy fleece beds for cats in the shelter, which they will also bring to their new “forever” homes!  Bring sharp scissors if you can. If you wish, bring items from Lollypop’s Urgent Needs List: Laundry Detergent, Paper Towels, Dog Treats, and Canned Dog and Cat Food. We will donate anything collected along with the beds. REGISTRATION is required and begins June 17.
