ANNUAL USED BOOK SALE

SENSATIONAL BARGAINS!  Wednesday, September 10 10 am-9 pm & Thursday, September 11 10 am-9 pm Friday, September 12 10 am -6 pm (half-price day) Saturday, September 13   9 am-2 pm (bag sale-$3.00 per bag) Pre-sale for the Friends of Penfield Public Library: Tuesday, September 9    2-9 pm Friends membership: $5.00 per family. Renew early or join at the door. Hardcover books: $1.00, Paperbacks: $.50. Specials at designated prices…over 85,000 books sorted in 50 categories (including local history category) also audio books, videos, DVDs, CDs, records, games, framed prints, and puzzles.

TEEN TUESDAY ~ GAME DAY AND GLASS MAGNETS

Teen Tuesdays are back!  Join us to play Super Smash Bros Brawl, Just Dance, and more on the Wii and PS3. We will also have supplies to make glass marble magnets- a perfect locker decoration! Registration is not required. Sponsored by the Friends of PPL.
 


NETSMARTZ INTERNET SAFETY SPECIAL HOMESCHOOLED TEEN PROGRAM

For homeschoolers age 13-18, parents are also encouraged to attend Debra Ortiz-Pardi from the Center for Missing and Exploited Children will present on this important issue.  The underlying theme of the presentation is that online actions have offline consequences, whether they stem from revealing too much, interacting with online predators, sexting or cyberbullying. The presentation includes video narratives of teens that have experienced the consequences of engaging in risky Internet behavior. In “Survivor Diaries”, two boys tell their stories about meeting offline with people they had first met online and the dangerous consequences. Contains mature subject matter suitable for this age group. REGISTRATION is required and begins September 2.
 


MAGIC MONDAY~ PLAY MAGIC: THE GATHERING

Fans of the game meet up the fourth Monday of each month to play, trade cards, enjoy free refreshments and maybe even win a booster pack in a raffle held at every event.  Registration is not required. Sponsored by the Friends of PPL.

TEEN TUESDAY WATCH EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS AND MAKE SOME FOR THE TEEN AREA, TOO!

Every October we love filling the teen area with arachnids!  This year, please help us construct some ginormous monster spiders and webs as well as nests spilling over with their babies. Eight Legged Freaks (2002, Rated PG-13) will be screened to get you in a creepy, crawly type of mood. Registration is not required. Sponsored by the Friends of PPL. Synopsis: Residents of a mining town discover an unfortunate chemical spill that has caused hundreds of spiders to mutate overnight to the size of SUV's. It is up to the townspeople to rid the small town of these giant spiders.
