VALENTINE CRAFTS

Age Level: 10 yrs. - And Up

Join Amy Raimy and Barbara Brachfeld from Close to My Heart for Valentine’s Day crafts.  Create a Valentine Box card, bookmark, and treat bag for your loved ones! Learn crafty creations in a relaxed atmosphere. Bring your favorite 2-sided tape runner, mini glue dots, and small sharp scissors. Supplies may be purchased from Michael’s, JoAnn’s, or Hobby Lobby. Registration is open to ages 10 and up and begins on Friday, January 16.   


Teen Tuesday Games, Legos and Craft Kits

This program is for 9th- 12th graders.   Hang out with other teens after school, play Super Smash Bros and other games, build with our Lego Architecture sets, or try out a craft kit (Chain Mail, Marble Magnets, Shrinky Dinks, Duct Tape, and more). Free snacks, too! Registration is not required.
 


Homeschool Book Club

Age Level: 12 yrs. - 16 yrs.

Join our fun book group!   We are reading and discussing books by authors who will be at the May 16 Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival (www.tbflive.org).  Registration is not required.
This month’s selection is: The Schwa Was Here by Neal Shusterman
A Brooklyn eighth-grader nicknamed Antsy befriends the Schwa, an "invisible-ish" boy who is tired of blending into his surroundings and going unnoticed by nearly everyone.

Craft of the Month- Sew Felt Animals

This program is for grades 6-12.   Get together with other crafty types and sew some cute felt animals. Registration is required and begins January 29. Limited to 10 participants.
 


Life Size Clue Game with a Teen Lit Twist

3:00  pm - 4:30  pm

This program is for 6th- 12th graders.   The library’s Braman Room will be transformed into a huge board game with a literary theme and players themselves are the pawns! Suspects, weapons, and locations will be based on favorite teen books.
 Yes, there will be prizes! REGISTRATION is required and begins on February 3.
 


Middle School Game Day

This program is for 6th - 8th graders.   The Wii and PS3 are set up with games such as Super Smash Bros Brawl. Board and card games will be provided. A special area will be set up specifically for Magic: The Gathering players. Free snacks, too!
No registration required.
 


Teen Tuesday- Movie

This program is for 9th - 12th graders.   Title: The Boxtrolls (2014, Rated PG)
Enjoy the movie with friends. Free popcorn, too! Registration is not required.
