Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library

The Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library is a not-for-profit organization of people who love libraries. Donations are used to support Rochester Public Library programs and services which could not otherwise be obtained through public library funding. The Friends & Foundation sponsor many programs each year that encourage an interest in the library and enrich our cultural community.

Books Sandwiched In programs are free, lunchtime book reviews by exciting local experts and celebrities that are offered in the Fall and Spring. 




Tuesday Topics Logo 

Tuesday Topics programs are free, lunchtime presentations about current issues in science, the arts, the economy, health care and government. Presenters are well-known professionals on these issues.

Check out a 'book' for a half-hour and have an informal, one-on-one conversation with someone you might not otherwise have the chance to meet.





Conversations on Race   

Conversations on Race and Conversations on Race with Poverty are free, facilitated conversations about race and its impact on all of us. Each conversation is unique and everyone participates. Offered with community partners at libraries throughout the Monroe County Library System.

Rochester Reads Reading and Book Signing, Central Library, Kate Gleason Auditorium. Join in this community-wide read and meet the 2016 author, Sonja Livingston, at Central Library on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 12 noon. Offered in partnership with Writers and Books.

Edible Books Festival and Competition, Central Library, Kate Gleason Auditorium. Saturday, April 16, 2016, 2pm - 4pm. Imagine an event where books look good enough to eat - and can be! Offered with Monroe Community College's Hospitality Program and Foodlink.
