Reading Garden

The Dorris Carlson Reading Garden is located outside the east entrance of the Bausch & Lomb Public Library Building and features a central gazebo, casual seating for reading and enjoying the weather, as well as a variety of trees and flowering plants. Free wireless internet can be accessed in the reading garden with a wireless-enabled laptop computer.  This open-air garden is named in honor of Dorris Carlson, wife of famous inventor of xerography and patent attorney Chester F. Carlson.

During warmer weather, the garden also serves as an ideal location for group meetings. Hidden speakers are located in the garden to pipe music, programs or lectures from the Kate Gleason Auditorium located just inside Bausch & Lomb Public Library Building.  The Dorris Carlson Reading Garden can be reserved by contacting the Meeting Rooms Coordinator at (585) 428-8304 or see our  Meeting Rooms Brochure  for more information.
