The Science, History, and Travel Division provides:
- Thousands of practical and technical books in the fields of computing, electronics, engineering, construction, gardening, and pets
- An expansive collection of cookbooks, recipe indexes, and other works in the culinary arts
- The most comprehensive collection of automotive service manuals in the county
- An exceptionally well balanced history collection, with particular strength in the military history of the American Civil War and the Second World War
- A specialized collection of travel guidebooks, and an impressive array of historical and contemporary travel narratives

The Science, History, and Travel Division is also home to the Chester F. Carlson Patent and Trademark Center.
