The Information Center provides:

• Assistance in locating materials throughout the library
• Basic instruction in use of the library catalog and on-line magazine databases
• Classes in beginning Internet use and basic Microsoft Word use. To sign up for a class, call (585) 428-7300 during business hours
• A browsing center with new and interesting books from all the library’s subject divisions
• The best signal strength for the library’s wireless hotspot is in the seating areas surrounding the Information Center
• Community information, free newspapers and other publications
• Information on Shelters and Meals and food cupboards. The 2009-10 editions of the Holiday Information Bulletin and the Shelters and Meals Bulletin are now available on-line and in-person at the Information Center at the Central Library. The 2008 edition of the Monroe County Area Food Cupboards bulletin is also still available both on-line and in-person and will be updated shortly.
