Because of Women Like Her...Winning the Vote in New York State

Library:  Central Library - Harold Hacker Hall, Rundel Memorial Building

Exhibit Dates:  2017-06-02 - 2017-10-14

Details:  This year marks the 100th anniversary of women winning the right to vote in New York State. To commemorate this historic milestone, the Rochester Public Library has teamed up with local museums, universities, and historical organizations to create a community-wide exhibition exploring Rochester's role in the woman suffrage and women's rights movements of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Come learn about this history among an eclectic mix of rare artifacts like Susan B. Anthony's dress, Martha Matilda Harper's prototype for the original salon shampoo chair, a Bloomer outfit, a variety of suffrage banners, pendants, flyers, and so much more!
