FEATURED ITEM:  Rochester Newspaper Index.  Rochester, N.Y. : Rochester Public Library, 2008.

The Rochester Newspaper Index is a project of the Rochester Public Library. It consists of digital versions of 83 volumes created by the United States National Youth Administration from a typed card index. This index references articles that appeared in selected Rochester newspapers during the period 1818-1897. The first set of 15 volumes indexes 13 newspapers published 1818-1850. The second set of 68 volumes indexes five newspapers published 1851-1897.
